Southeastern Arizona is a year-round oasis. It is especially cooler in the summer with high desert and mountain canyons, than neighboring low desert regions. In the winter it is amazingly comfortable with lots of warm, sunny days but do remember that as soon as the sun sets the thermometer drops dramatically. Summer brings cool breezes and monsoon rains. With the mountain walls sheltering the Cochise Stronghold Canyon from the early morning and late afternoon sun, and the transpiration from thick oak, juniper, pine forest the climate in the Cochise Stronghold Canyon is exceptional, even for the local area.
